The Patient-Specific Functional Scale (PSFS)
The Patient-Specific Functional Scale (PSFS) for neck dysfunction asks patients to identify 3 activities that they find difficult to perform due to their neck pain. Each activity is scored on a scale of 0 (can’t do at all) to 10 (can do fully). The final score is the average of the 3 activity scores.
Patients are also asked to rate their pain limitation and pain intensity over the past 24 hours
MCIC for the PSFS for the average score of the 3 nominated activities in patients with neck pain is ≥ 2 points.
