Forward Head PostureForward head posture is when there is an excessive anterior positioning of the head. Increased lower cervical spine lordosis and rounded shoulders with thoracic kyphosis is often seen in this posture.
This posture is very common in many people and can be a cause of cervical pain due to undue stress on the supporting muscles, cervical and thoracic facet joints, and the tempomandibular joint. Tired Neck Syndrome is possible when the forward head posture is sustained for long periods of time. This can cause fatigue in the levator scapulae, rhomboids, and lower portion of the trapeziues.
